What to know about Prayer

Discovering the Father's Heart

Having struggled with what to pray, using scriptures has changed my prayer life. I began by writing scriptures to pray on random pieces of paper and stuck them in my Bible - folders, books... but then I couldn’t find the specific note I needed when I needed it.

When we visited the Brownsville Revival and saw the prayer banners I realized what I needed to do. So my Target Intercession was birthed. Organizing the scriptures topically helped tremendously.
At prayer meetings we would walk and pray  from pages of scriptures about revival, or souls, etc. when people began to ask what we were using.  I had no idea it would be something that would be a tool for others as well.

Praying what God has said and knowing what He feels about the subject makes the prayer safe. When it is His will and we can ask boldly.
Now EVERYTHING I read in the Bible could be fuel for my prayers!

The Intercessor . . .

KNOWS AND OBEYS THE WORD OF GOD

WANTS TO KNOW WHAT GOD DESIRES

WANTS TO EXPERIENCE WHAT GOD FEELS

WANTS TO HEAR WHAT GOD SAYS

IS SELFLESS

WHAT MAKES PRAYERS STRONG?

Praying what God has already stated is His purpose or plan

1  John 5:14.  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

We can expect that God will do what He says.

Prayers from the Word of God get Heaven’s attention

Jeremiah 23:29  Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
